Better than escape

Short description:
An American woman of Yugoslav origin arrives to the country of her ancestors
for the first time to learn the language. By chance, she meets
a young Belgrade actor, falls in love and marries. For some time,
they live happily. But then things get worse. Actor's identification
with his role, sudden independency of his wife, who has found a job,
destroys his identity and he starts drinking. They enter a new phase
of their relationship and life. He quits drinking and appears in
some series which brings him problems and money. The premiere of his
new play is a success, but soon it gets off the repertoire. He starts
drinking again. His wife returns to America with their child. Their
last encounter, which takes place in America, signifies a lament
over their past and their relationship.
