The Haiduk

Short description:
After the World War I, two friends, discharged officers, recipients of
the highest medal of honor, return to peaceful life. The first one
becomes gendarmerie commander, and the other one finds a demolished
house which he tries to revive. But, he gets in conflict with the authorities,
gets arrested, escapes from jail. In that way he becomes
an outlaw, persecuted by authorities. His war-friend, now a gendarme,
finds himself in the role of persecutor, from which the renegade Haiduk
is running away.
